Resources for Pastors and Congregational Leaders
Pastors and congregational leaders have a unique and important role in welcoming children into the larger church context.
When families face difficult situations, leaders must consider their role in shepherding children and guiding adults in their responsibility as parents. When preaching or leading in worship to an intergenerational community, pastors need to recognize that a significant percentage of those learning and worshipping are children. Unfortunately, many pastors feel ill-equipped to anticipate the developmental, social, and emotional needs of children in order to create meaningful connections.
When we recognize that children are able to truly worship and know Jesus, we can move forward in welcoming children as full members of our congregations and a vital part of the Body of Christ.
