Year A: God's Promise
What does the Old Testament have to do with the New Testament?
How did that family tree go together?
Where does Jesus fit into this?
Year A focuses on creating a cohesive story of Scripture for children to trace from Genesis to Revelation. More than just learning the facts and order of events, children trace the faithfulness of the Lord to fulfill each promise, sometimes in unexpected ways! This year practices an extended walk through the Old Testament, including the Patriarchs, Wilderness, Judges, Unified and Divided Kingdoms, Exiles, and Restoration. Each story looks at the revealed character of God, and what that means both in the context of the story and for believers today.
In Year A, we focus on Jesus as the fulfillment of the promised Messiah, and how the Kingdom he introduces to the people is different than almost anyone anticipated!
